Senior cop: We mustn’t use the public as cash cows

The College of Policing, the body which was supposed to have replaced Continuity ACPO as the official forum for deciding how to police Britain, made a very out-of-character statement about charging the public for police services this morning.

Evidently Marshall hasn’t spoken to Chief Constable Andy Marsh, ACPO’s head of firearms licensing, who was responsible for trying to quadruple the cost of a firearm certificate. That move was a cynical exercise in using the licensed firearms community as a profitable cash cow for police activities.
