Sources have told UK Shooting News that the Law Commission will publish its review into Britain’s firearms laws tomorrow.
A press release forwarded to UKSN which appears to originate from the Law Commission contains some broad-brush recommendations around deactivation standards, antique firearms and defining component parts.
The release appears to be under embargo until midnight tonight, at which point UKSN will publish the Law Commission’s recommendations. A blog post has been scheduled for 0001 with a full dissection of the press release, and while it is not outrageously bad news, it looks as if the Commission has largely ignored the licensed firearms community’s reasoned and sensible points in favour of adopting scaremongering police lobbyists’ demands.
The full report is not yet available.
