Dutch shooting organisation puts forward amendments to #EUgunban

21 March 2016 – A Dutch shooting organisation has got in touch with UK Shooting News to publicise its own proposed amendments to the EU gun ban plan.

The organisation, GRENS, says the current text of the EU gun ban – formally known as proposal COM2015 750 final, amending EU directive 91/477/EC – “lacks in quality” and is a “limited very and selective elaboration”.

It also highlights that in the Netherlands alone, any semi-auto firearm seizure proposal would cost EU bureaucrats at least 25 million euros.

The letter can be read in full here, as a PDF download: openletter_comments_amendment_EU91477EEC.

You’d have to say – if the EU knew it would cost 25 million euros to remove lawfully held semi auto firearms from the Netherlands – they’d probably jump at that at twice the cost.
